Teaching Kindness in the Classroom Can Be Fun

When you have your classroom full of beautiful and kind children, the day is brighter and more productive too.

Have you ever heard "acts of kindness"? Those selfless acts that can happen at any time and that leave as a consequence another happy person. It will never be enough to have good emotions and feel good for doing good. That is why in this article we will tell you the importance of kindness and some activities to do with your students in the classroom.

If children are educated from childhood to be kind, they will flourish and grow up as healthy, happy and whole people.

Kindness can be taught in many ways. The child can learn to be kind to everyone: friends, parents, animals, and even to strange people.

"What would you do if..."

It raises various situations that would occur on a daily basis and asks the children, what would they do if...
- What would you do if... you only have one toy, and another child wants it?
- What would you do if... there is a place full of many toys and another child who has some asks you what you have?
- What would you do if... you see an old man in the street asking for money?
You can add all the situations you want, as long as they are related to the value that is intended to be formed. Listen to their response and guide them.

Color

The activity is to give a sheet to each child and ask them to draw something nice to give to another classmate.

Kind crafts

Choose one day per week to do crafts.

Ask for materials such as magazines, paste, scissors, and colored papers.

You can give ideas such as flowers made with magazine clippings, some sheet with drawings with paint, whatever the child comes to mind. The idea is to make a detail for a partner, mom, dad, or whoever they want.

Last but not least: guide them in the way of good and kindness. Always talk to your students and teach them how important these values are and how great they are for their lives.

Activities such as those mentioned above will help them to concentrate more on their tasks, increase feelings of gratitude, acceptance among all, less stress, better behaviors, and also... more happiness.

Be kind, be happy!
Small steps to big changes; forming happy and kind children for our society.
